Flowers

What a day....Flower shopping.  I have found that purchasing Silk flowers are definately cheaper than purchasing real ones for the design that my daughter is wanting for her wedding.  Finally my daughter  decide what type of flowers and decorations she wanted for her wedding reception.  I proceeded to add up the number of flowers and ribbon we would need for center pieces, the brides bouquet, the bridesmaids and flower girls hairpieces, the groom / groomsmen / fathers and grandfathers boutineers, the mothers and grandmothers coursages and a few extra for the cake that I will be making as well.
  • 90 Single Creame Daisies
  • 50 Bunches of Dark Blue Roses with Dew Drops on them
  • 25 Single White Roses
  • 75 Yards of Silver Ribbon
  • 15 Dowl Sticks
    • YIKES!!!!  Lots of flowers - Can't imagine the Cost

We have hunted all over town for the colors and types of flowers Sharlyn wanted.  Six different stores later and not very happy with the selections or quality we were finding, we decided to try one more time.  This time we tried our local Hobby Lobby.  JACK POT.....I'm so excited!!!!!

Their store was so organized (by colors) and they had the most beautiful selections.  The flowers actually looked very real.  To top it all off, they were having a 50% off sale on all of their flower and ribbon selections which ended today.  I have been waiting for my check to post, and as of today it had not.  I know Heavenly Father is truly watching over me and knowin that I'm stressing a little especially financially.  When we talked to the manager of the store they said since they didn't have all the numbers we needed in the store, that we could place a special order, pay when the order comes in and still get the 50% Discount (Sale Price).  I was jumping for joy, and almost hugging the manager.

I saved over $300.00!!

I told the check out clerk that they have become my new favorite store - that they have really out done all others in town.  :)

Wedding Planning

It doesn't seem possible that my oldest, my first born baby is old enough to be getting married.  I guess she is though, because I'm planning her wedding.  I remember the day she was born.  It was snowy white.   LOL.... I remember I wasn't sure if I was going to make it to the hospital or not because her dad decided that he was going to go pull the neighborhood boy sledding in the snow behind the four wheeler, all the while, I was in labor in our apartment.   He finally made it back to the apartment and we started our way down to the hospital.  My water broke and we still had another 1 1/2 hour drive, and he turns to me and ask, how long after the water breaks does the baby come.  I just replied that I really didn't know, because it was my first baby too.   LOL... Way to funny....

What a beautiful moment it was when she was first placed in my arms.  A beautiful child of our Heavenly Father whom I will always love and treasure.  Who knew where the twenty year journey would take us.  It has definately been filled with many happy memories as well as a few tears and many lessons learned.  Now we find ourselves planning a wedding.

So be looking for upcoming blogs about our exciting journey of the wedding planning and the special day.

A New Year - 2012

Happy New Year to all my dear friends and family.  As I look back at this past year, I try to think of my 2011 year goals and try to fiure out how close I came to accomplishing them.  I realized that I started out really strong in the initial goals I set for myself and then circumstances in my life change and thus some of the goals do too. (P.S. Don't tell anyone, but some of the goals went to the way side too).

So here I am, a brand new year, 2012.  What goals should I set for myself?  Whatever they are and no matter my life circumstances,  I do know that I want to be a person who makes a difference to all that I come in contact with every day.  Trying to follow in Heavenly Father's footsteps in being compassionate and loving to other's around me.  "Let your light so shine"
